    Lloyd Benton, James Russell, Reason and Thomas Helms all moved from Clark Co., Indiana to Harrison Co., Indiana together in 1835, and then moved on to Jefferson Co., Iowa around 1843.

    Oliver Perry Light's notes give his death date and cause as smallpox
    Can not find his burial place. It is possible his second wife took him back to be buried in Blue River twp., Harrison Co.,Ind. because she returned there and remarried. Since she moved before the 1850 census was taken, and no one was still in th e family home, he did not make the 1850 Mortality Schedule.(In the 1856 Iowa State Census, daughter Sarah Ann said they moved there in 1842, and son Enoch said they moved in 1844.)

    Notes:

    Basil was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He was born in Maryland and after the War moved West, settling in several states until he finally settled in Utica Township, Indiana near what is now Watson, Indiana. A legend states he witn essed a sea battle and when the ship washed ashore he found gold. Later while in Kentucky, the Prathers paid Bill Hatfield $10 to dig up gold hidden under an old house across the river in Magnet, Indiana.

    Six of the Prather sons signed a petition in against the then Government. This petition was also signed by 2 Hiltons, Truman Hilton and James Hilton.

    Prather Chapel (1800) was named after him in Harmony, North Carolina.

    (Research):Two of the oldest children were from a first marriage, in Penn. and when the wife died, Bazil left these children with the maternal grandparents to raise.

    This family lived in Maryland until 1778, in Iredell Co. and Rowen Co., North Carolina for 20 years (1798). He bought 3,000 acres in Clark's Grant, Indiana Territory in 1798. Part of this family moved to Clark Co., Indiana with their parents in 1801, and then some of the other children followed in 1805. Other related families making the move to Indiana around this same time were: Veatches, Hiltons, other Prathers, Redmans, Holemans,and Jacobs.
    He was wounded at the battle of Camden. S. C. in 1785 and was lame the rest of his life.
    Many of these family members are buried in this church cemetery located 1/2 mile N. E. of Watson, Indiana, and a lot of the tomb stones are no longer there.

    The Hiltons were probably kin to the Lucketts because they both had daughters named Verlinda.
    Polly and Jacob's marriage record in Jessimine Co., Kent. shows her to be the daughter of Truman Hilton, he did not name her in his will.
    The name Pressha came from the Patrick line. Christina had a sister by that name.
    Several families moved together from Montgomery Co., Maryland to Iredell Co., North Caroline, thru Kentucky to Clark Co., Indiana. Some of these family names were Hilton, Prather, Veatch, Redman, Holeman/Holman, and Jacob.
