About 24 miles N. of Sacramento. This cemetery is nearly as old as the state. Many of the graves house the first settlers, and as many as 7 generations of their families. It is a peaceful place situated among the vast rice fields of a very rural area. The people of Pleasant Grove take pride in the lovely, well-maintained grounds, plots and headstones. Of the approximately 350 residents of Pleasant Grove, it is difficult to find anyone who is not related to at least one of the people whose names appear on the headstones of this sanctified arbor of peace.
