Mrs. Cordie Reed -77- of Masonville Dies, Rites Friday Mrs. Cordie M. Reed, 77, Masonville community resident for past 47 years, passed away at her home in Masonville following a heart attack suffered at the time of her passing. Funeral servic es for Mrs. Reed will be held from the Masonville church at 1:30 p.m. Friday with Rev. R. D. Elefson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. Cordie May Reese, daughter of Henry & Mary Van Meter Reece, was born July 30, 1884, on the p arental farm near St. Joseph, Ill. She grew to young womanhood in that community and received her education in the rural schools there. She was united in marriage with Albert S. Reed on march 2, 1910, at St. Joseph, Ill. and following their mar riage they came to Iowa and farmed in western Iowa until 1915 when they came to Delaware county to farm northwest of Masonville. Mrs. Reed was a member of the Masonville Methodist church and a member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service o f the church. She is survived by 1 son, Francis L. Reed of 212 E. Delaware street, Manchester; 1 grandson, James Reed; 3 granddaughters, Mrs. Herbert Mesch of Ogden, Utah, Miss Elizabeth and Miss Debra Reed, both of Manchester; 1 great grandaugh ter, Kimberly Mesch of Ogden, Utah; 2 brothers, Ezra Reece of Urbana, Ill. and W. C. Reece of Torrance, Calif.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Jay Hatfield of Strawberry Point and Mrs. Hattie Burke of Rockwell City. She was preceded in death by her husband i n 1943, by her parents, 1 son, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
