The story goes that the first Julius was from Bohemia.
In fact, it is enscribed on his gravestone. He died in one place (Silver City Nevada perhaps?) and his family had his body brought to the Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland, Californina where he is buried along with many pioneers of the Oakland and San Francisco area. He wasn't buried in Oakland until 1895 - according to the cemetery records.
Even though the family lived in Oakland for quite some time they eventually left Oakland for Seattle and no one was ever buried next to him.
The gravestone says his death was April 22, 1869.
