There are numerous theories as to who might have been Nancy's father. Some believe it was this circumstance that led Joseph Hanks to take his family from North Farnham Parish to Hampshire County and then to Kentucky, though of course, theirs was not the only family moving into these parts at the time.[4] Lucey would have been between about 15 and 18 years old at the time.  [1]
